Russell-Style Returns Contradict S&P Returns for 2Q 2005

In the second quarter, S&P Value returned 2.6%, while the Russell Value returned only .3%. And Russell Growth outpaced S&P Growth by 200 bps as well. Why the discrepancy? It all depends on how the index is built and where the line between value and growth is drawn.
