If we persistently and thoughtfully observe the detailed movements of an investable trend, we can develop an orientation that positions us well—long, short, or avoid. We can pay attention to high-frequency economic data and see how it fits with our orientation on any trends we're observing, but we should not panic into making mid-course changes under stress.
